What interested you about becoming
a photographer?
– Becoming a photographer is like a inner job for me. I use photography because I need this medium to convey something hidden or an idea hidden in an image.
Where do you find inspiration to
make your photographs?
– I usually don't think about an idea or a concept that I want to express before taking a photograph. I just walk and when I feel it, I shoot. It's a continuous interaction between my inner emotions and the external world: human beings, objects or landscapes. The reflective part comes later.
What do you most like to
photograph?
– I have a real interest in the essence of the present moment. I know that reality is of course an interpretation of reality, but I think there is also an universal and almost hidden essence, that needs to be discovered through an empathic way of seeing the things that surround us.
Who are your favorite photographers?
– Many, but as emblematic photographers I love Rinko Kawauchi, Luigi Ghirri and Martin Parr. I think they influenced me a lot, expecially because they are three pure human beings interested to express the spiritual or the supernatural but also the funny aspects of life.
