What interested you about becoming a photographer?
– I didn't know what interested me when I started at the Photoacademy. I have always photographed girls throughout my education, it was just a matter of getting to the core and finding out why.

Where do you find inspiration to make your photographs?
– My main inspiration are my models, they are the subject of my photography and simply fascinate me. Everything in my photography is about the girl, therefor I try to remove most of the context in my pictures and approach everything as a portrait.

What do you most like to photograph?
– I only photograph young girls in transition to womanhood when they are complex, innocent and naive; aspects that disappear as they grow up. I always look for the natural strength and beauty of the girl. Whether they are insecure or self-conscious, I treat them with the highest regards.

Who are your favorite photographers?
– Helmut Newton, Irving Penn, Paolo Roversi, Richard Avedon, Sally Mann, Bill Brandt, Edward Weston, Sarah Moon, Vincent van de Wijngaard, Guy Bourdin, Elliot Erwitt, Edouard Boubat, Peter Lindbergh, Dennis Stock, Stephan Vanfleteren, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Andre Kertesz, Claude Nori and Michael Ackerman
