What interested you about becoming
– Becoming a photographer came about by accident. While studying fine art at East Los Angeles College, a friend suggested I take a photography class. I had no interest at first, but decided to try it anyway. After developing my first roll of film and creating my first print, I knew I found my passion.
Where do you find inspiration to
make your photographs?
– I find inspiration from personal experiences as well as others around me. I am influenced by Art History books, and various magazines such as Vogue Italia, Zink, Love, and Makeup Magazine, to name a few. I am also inspired by photographers both past and present.
What do you most like to
– I love photographing people! The interaction between myself, camera, and my subjects are experiences like no other. From portraits to Fashion; capturing the essence of the individuals, and bringing out something special within. Using the camera is paramount, no matter who the individual may be.
Who are your favorite photographers?
– Joel Peter-Witkin, Guy Bourdin, Irving Penn, Richard Avedon, Lora Aguliar, David LaChapelle, Mario Testino, Arnold Newman, Annie Leibovitz, Helmut Newton, Patrick Demarchelier, George Hurrell, Horst P. Horst, August Sander, Herb Ritts, and Robert Mapplethorpe, just to name a few.
